The fifth World Conference on Metaphysics. Held in Rome, November 8-10, 2012- represented a further step in a contemporary effort to renew interest in and reflection on how our conception of the absolute or ultimate reality relates to all the major spheres of human thought and action.

The Conference was fortunate to be able to include sixty-four other presentations, which are also noteworthy for their thematic variety. In order to provide some unity to this highly diversified set of contributions, we have arranged them under nine headings: Mystical Experience; Theology and Religion; Anthropology; The Arts; education; Ethics, Law, and Society; Health and Healing; Epistemology and Logic; and Empirical Sciences
