En este artículo se analiza la recepción que los diarios católicos y sus respectivos críticos teatrales dispensaron a la tragedia carlista valleinclaniana Voces de gesta al estrenarse en Madrid en 1912. Se tiene en cuenta, por una parte, la historia ideológica de cada uno de los periódicos y sus críticos, como así mismo la visión de Valle-Inclán ofrecida previamente en sus páginas; por otra parte, se confronta el análisis de la disposición del espacio físico dedicado a las reseñas y el contenido de estas. Pese a tratarse de diarios y críticos con la misma orientación religiosa, los análisis de los artículos y su disposición en las maquetas demuestran, de un lado, ciertas discrepancias entre los críticos y los medios en los que aquellos publicaban sus artículos y, de otra parte, ciertas diferencias de planteamientos entre unos medios y otros todo lo cual como resultado divergencias en la consideración y tratamiento periodístico de Valle-Inclán y de esta obra.

In this paper, the reception that the catholic press and their respective theatrical critics dispensed to the Valleinclanian carlist Tragedy Voices de gesta when premiering in Madrid, in 1912, is analyzed. To carry out this analysis, we take into account, on the one hand, the ideological history of each of the newspapers and their critics, as well as the vision of Valle-Inclán previously offered in its pages; on the other hand, the analysis of the disposition of the physical space dedicated to the reviews and the content of them is confronted. In spite of being newspapers and critics with the same religious orientation, analyzing the articles and their disposition in the models demonstrate, on the one hand, certain discrepancies between the critics and the media in which they published their reviews and, on the other hand, certain differences in the approaches between the media and that result in divergences in the consideration and journalistic treatment of Valle-Inclán and of this work.
