Luis Vives, una de las personas más importantes del Renacimiento español, como tantas otras, no pudo sustraerse a la influencia de la Inquisición, tanto por los problemas que tuvieron con ella personas de entorno durante sus estancias fuera de España, como por el acoso sufrido por sus familitares en España: El proceso y quema de su padre y el proceso y quema post-mortem de su madre, Blanquina March. Estos acontecimientos pudieron ejercer un notable influjo en la trayectoria vital de Vives.

Luis Vives, one of the most important figures in the Spanish Renaissance, could not, like so many others, escape from the influence of the Inquisition, both on account of the problems that people close to him had with this institution when he was outside Spain, and because of the harassment suffered by his family in Spain: the trial and burning of his father and the trial and post mortem burning of his mother, Blanquina March. These events influenced Vives’ vital path considerably.
