La tutela del derecho a la intimidad no se limita exclusivamente a los aspectos  más  reservados  de  la  vida  privada  de  las  personas  stricto  sensu,  sino  que  amplía  esa  protección a otras manifestaciones que también pueden lesionar la privacy como tal. De modo que sólo cuando medie consentimiento o se haya recabado la preceptiva autorización judicial conforme a criterios de proporcionalidad, se podrán conocer por terceros los aspectos relativos a la privacidad de las personas. En los últimos años se viene asistiendo a un incremento (por vía legal y, de hecho) de los poderes que le son conferidos al empresario lo que, unido a una fuerte evolución de las  nuevas  tecnologías  de  la  información  ha  posibilitado  un  debilitamiento  en  la  esfera  privada de protección del trabajador.

The protection of the right to privacy is not limited exclusively to the most reserved aspects of the privacy of individuals stricto sensu, but extends that protection to other  manifestations  that  may  also  injure  privacy  as  such.  Thus,  only  when  consent  has  been obtained or the requisite judicial authorization has been obtained in accordance with criteria of proportionality, will it be possible for third parties to know the aspects relating to the privacy of individuals.In recent years there has been an increase (by legal means and, in fact) of the powers that are conferred on the employer what, together with a strong evolution of the new infor-mation technologies has enabled a weakening in the private sphere of worker protection.
