Este artículo analiza la trayectoria intelectual de Joaquín Ruiz Giménez. El autor señala los principales datos biográficos y explica la evolución democrática de sus convicciones. Las coordenadas de su pensamiento –cristianismo y iusnaturalismo– fueron modulándose con el tiempo. Algo que el autor del artículo sintetiza en el lema “Del Derecho natural a los derechos naturales.” También se señala la relevancia de Ruiz Giménez en la fundación de la revista “Cuadernos para el diálogo” y su obra como primer Defensor del Pueblo.

This article analyzes the intellectual biography of Joaquin Ruiz Giménez. The author explains the basic biographical details an also the democratic evolution of his convictions. The central themes of his thinking –Christianity and iusnaturalism– were lessened during the years. Something that the author of the article summarizes in the slogan “From natural Law to the natural rights”. The article exposes as well the relevance of Ruiz Giménez in the foundation of “Cuadernos para el Dialogo” review and his work as the first Spanish Ombudsman.
