Mi propósito en este artículo consiste en analizar la conexión que existe entre pluralismo de valores y conflictos trágicos en el trabajo de Isaiah Berlin. Dividiré este ensayo en tres partes. Primero, consideraré algunos de los principales aspectos filosóficos del pensamiento de Berlin. En segundo lugar contrastaré algunos de estos aspectos con la visión que Ronald Dworkin ha ofrecido sobre ellos en un artículo reciente. Finalmente, conectaré algunas ideas de la perspectiva liberal de Berlin con la idea de diseño institucional.

My purpose in this paper is to analyze the existing conexion between values pluralism and tragic conflicts in Isaiah Berlin’s work. The essay will be divided in three sections. Firstly, I will consider some of the main philosophical topics of Berlin’s thought. Secondly, I will contrast some of these topics with the vision that Ronald Dworkin offered about them in a recent paper. Finally, I will connect some ideas of Berlin’s liberal perspective with the idea of institutional design.
