El desarrollo de la inteligencia artificial jurídica está provocando transformaciones sustanciales en el ejercicio de la abogacía que plantean enormes retos deontológicos. Uno de ellos es la construcción de una deontología universal capaz de dar respuestas eficientes a un mercado legal cada vez más globalizado. Por otro lado, la irrupción de compañías tecnológicas que prestan servicios jurídicos automatizados está propiciando una liberalización del mercado legal que revela las insuficiencias del enfoque deontológico y la necesidad de un nuevo esquema regulador de los servicios jurídicos. Finalmente, se muestra el potencial de la inteligencia artificial para disolver algunas de las categorías básicas sobre las que se asienta la regulación deontológica, así como la incidencia de algunas herramientas tecnológicas sobre determinados deberes profesionales del abogado.

The development of legal artificial intelligence is bringing about substantial changes in the practice of law that pose huge deontological challenges. One of the most important is building a universal deontology, capable of giving efficient answers to an increasingly globalized legal market. Furthermore, the irruption of legaltech companies that provide automated legal services is promoting a liberalization of the legal market that reveals the inadequacies of the deontological approach and calls for a new regulatory scheme of legal services. Finally, the article shows the potential of legal artificial intelligence to dissolve some basic categories of the deontology of legal profession, as well as the impact of certain AI tools on some lawyer’s ethical duties.
