Margarita-Esther Sánchez-Cuervo is Senior Lecturer in English at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). Her current teaching is devoted to literary and cultural studies. Her research deals with rhetorical argumentation analysis across a range of genres, including literary, journalistic, media and didactic texts, and she has also carried out research on English language teaching and applied linguistics. She has taken part in several national research projects, including a recent project on nineteenth-century women’s instructive texts (1800–1900). She completed her PhD on Virginia Woolf’s essays at the University of Granada, where she received the Extraordinary PhD Award in English Philology. Her work has appeared in journals such as Neophilologus, Renascence, Feminist Media Studies and Transactions of the Philological Society. Her current work includes a critical edition of The Mirror of the Graces (1811), forthcoming with Palgrave Macmillan.
